Artist Entrepreneurs Needed!

April 19, 2018

The Smash Shared Space, New Hampshire's only Fine and Performing Arts Makerspace of its kind was formed in October os 2017.

Smash Music founder Scott Graves created the space as a response to the pressing needs in Derry's downtown for affordable space for artist entrepreneurs.

"As in so many of our communities in Northern New England, commercial lease rates are high while foot traffic is often only a fraction of what it would be in larger urban centers.  This is exacerbated in our community because much of our professional class spends the weekday commuting outside of our downtown for work and pleasure."

The Smash Shared Space allows artist entrepreneurs a number of flexible lease terms that allow members the runway necessary to refine business plans, build a client base and ultimately monetize a successful business in the fine and performing arts.

Current clients include

  • Jenn Sassak of All that Sass Broadway Bootcamp, a dance community targeting adult women who enjoy dance in regional theatre or are looking for an alternative exercise routine from the norm.

  • Alanah Tintle: Yoga and Dance professional providing a host of services for clients engaged in Yoga and dance.  She is also a member of the band Gloombug, regularly performing during the Smash Live Series

  • Nolan O'Connell, printmaking artist and educator produces and sells his work at Smash Shared Space.  Nolan also offers education opportunities for clients.  Coming Summer 2018: Ink and Drink events weeknights in the Smash Shared Space.

  • Caroline Massesa is an up and coming photographer who is also developing a video shooting and production business.  She is the Smash Music resident photographer and videographer.

  • Coming May 2018: Thrifties Vintage Vinyl and CDs will feature over 20,000 units of vintage Vinyl records, CDs, cassettes and DVDS in the Smash Shared Space.

Smash Music offers services to it's members including POS/inventory, business planning, event production, collaborative opportunities, discounts and more.
